First Eight Agencies now Accredited

We'll this time, the rumors proved to be true! As of July 4th, seven US agencies and one Foreign agency have received the first re-accreditation certificates in over a year. The certificates are non-expiring, which is a new thing for Russia. Part of the problem with frequent slowdowns has historically been this issue of expiring accreditation. This is good news and we are happy! Unfortunately our agency wasn't among the first group to be issued, so we aren't purchasing any flights yet! (Once our agency gets their certificate, our wait will not be indefinite as it has been for the past few months.)

The head coordinator for the Russia program sent out an email today acknowledging that there were several US agencies now accredited. She was also very hopeful that more accreditation's would be issued in the near future. As to when that would be is pure speculation. Our agency has assured us that they will let us know when they have concrete information to share This is good news for all parents adopting from Russia, but not for us specifically -YET!
