We've been working over the last week to cross things off the to do list, and feeling pretty good about it. I'm going today to finish up some shopping for things like adapters, mp3 player, headphones, personal items, etc.
Yesterday we went to our local immigration office to be refingerprinted since ours are set to expire on April 15th. That was a bit of adventure, but thanks to a very nice lady among a sea of crabby ones, they finally allowed us in. Immigration and government offices generally are not very helpful. If you don't have the right form, or didn't go through the proper channels to get the right form, they don't show much mercy. In fact while we were there, the foreigners we saw were treated very poorly/rudely, especially if thier english was limited. We felt sorry for them because they were TRYING to do things the right way, desiring to live/work in the US, maybe even become citizens, but were not given much patience, understanding, or help by those representing our government and the ideals this country stands for.
Yesterday afternoon, my friend "L" came to help me work on the baby quilt and get the top finished. Thank you!!!! It is turing out wonderfully, after I nearly took it all apart and started over. I had these tiny bits of yellow fabric that were very thick and very fuzzy- nearly impossible to work with. In the end, it became a major source of frustration because my pieces didn't fit together properly. There was nothing to do but to pull it all out and try again. THIS time, its much better. Here are the results so far:
I'm really pleased with it and hope that our little boy will like it.

We just arrived today for our 2nd trip. In just one week, you'll be here. It's so exciting to think we're all closer to bringing our children home!
That quilt is absolutely amazing. You did such a wonderful job on it!! You are right - USCIS is not easy to deal with, but I'm glad you get everything done! One more week!!!
That is such a beautiful quilt. I am sure your little boy will love it, especially as he gets older and hears stories about how much love was put into making it.
