Our neighbors Walter and Joyce have kindly been schnauzer-sitting for us the past month or so as we traveled to Russia and came home with our precious son. Jiggs loves Walt & Joyce! And they love him. We think they secretly were hoping that Jiggs and Zachary wouldn't get along well so that they could just keep him indefinately.The first meeting, and those that have followed have gone well, and we're hoping to be able to bring Jiggs home for good sometime soon. For now, both Zach and Jiggs are better off easing into this transition, so we visit Jiggs at Walt & Joyce's house, or bring Jiggs home to spend a couple of hours with us. You can see the love and thrill that Zachary has when he sees Jiggs!
When we brought Jiggs home for the first time last night, Zachary didn't understand that the dog bowls that he'd been playing with for the last couple of weeks had an entirely different purpose than what he'd been using them for. He also didn't know what to think of Jiggs drinking water from that bowl, but he was pretty excited about it all. The two got along okay- Jiggs was getting a little skittish toward the end of the playtime, but what dog wouldn't with a 17 month old boy who doesn't know anything about dogs exept that they say ARF ARF was in your face and chasing your around the house! Im sure he was glad to go back to the peace and quiet at Walt & Joyce's house!

Hehehe... that is too cute! Poor little Jiggs has no idea what he's in for! :-) We have 3 four legged babies waiting at home. We're preparing for some serious chaos!
