Summer Fun

We've been enjoying this summer with working in the garden and a 2 week trip to Minnesota to spend time with my family. We've had a lot of fun, and can't believe that its already half over. Here are a few photos of our summer fun.

On Sunday Zachary will be exactly 2.5 years old- hard to believe, but he is all of that and more. Such a busy guy! My hair really is turning more grey everyday, and I'm sure its from worrying about his no fear "big boy" attitude, jumping skills, and climbing ability!

Z is talking so much more these days- its really a treat to be able to have some actual conversations with him. I'm amazed at his ability to grasp concepts and language. He still understands much more than he can actually speak, but I've seen wonderful growth in his language skills the past 3 weeks. For example; on Wednesday I was changing his diaper and attempting to put his shorts back on when he insisted in his big boy determined litte way to do it himself "Zach do! Zach do!" So I guided his legs into the right place and helped him stand up telling him to pull up his pants. He did it mostly himself and I praised him "Good Job! Yay!" to which he replied "Yay! Zach proud me!"

For all his big boy attempts, he's still a little guy, and still wants to be a baby at times too. For the first time in months, Zachary saw his bottle in the cupboard last night and asked for some milk in it. Right after that he asked for "Lababa" which to him means the Lullaby song. So he and Daddy rocked in the rocking chair and sang while he drank his bottle of milk, and for a moment he was a baby again. It goes by so fast. We're doing our best to try and enjoy and marvel at the wonder of it all!

Isn't it so funny how he chooses the bucket over the pool. Andrew always chooses the cardboard box to the playhouse. :-) So glad you guys are having such a great summer.
